You Don’t Need to Be ‘On’ All Summer: 3 Ways to Protect Your Peace

Ah, summer on social media: perfectly lit vacation pics, “hot girl” glow-ups, and “living my best life” captions everywhere you scroll. If you’re not the one constantly posting, updating, or thriving online…you might think you’re missing out.

But here’s your expert reminder: you don’t have to be “on” all summer—or any season. Protecting your peace is a power move. Here are three ways to do it:

1. Set screen time limits.
Give yourself windows for scrolling—and windows for being fully present IRL.

Sunsets are prettier when you’re not watching through your phone. And moments with friends are sweeter when your phone isn’t buzzing.

2. Curate your feed.
Unfollow (or mute) accounts that spark comparison or drain your joy. You deserve a feed that lifts you up.

Find pages that inspire you, uplift you, or perhaps teach you a skill that you’ve been wanting to learn.

3. Embrace quiet seasons.
It’s okay to post less—or not at all. You don’t need to be “on” all the time and that includes being in-person, not just online.

Please don’t feel the need to perform for the social media followers or for the folks in your life. When it’s time to rest and reset, honor that.

If you’re phone isn’t at 100% all the time, you don’t have to be either😉

Let’s make space for more peace this season. 🌞
