You Don't Need a Massive Reset: You Need a Gentle Recommitment | Mid-Year Goal Setting

We are halfway into 2026 and the train continues to move forward! The thought of this might fill you with panic, but we cannot hit the breaks!

Now is not the time to abandon goals or attempt extreme reinventions. Even if you think you’ll never achieve your original goal, I beg you not to throw it out the window.

If you remember from my newsletter last week, our key phrase for mid-year check-ins is “compassionate recalibration.” You don’t need to force yourself into an “all-or-nothing” mindset, because something matters.

Even if you don’t achieve everything you imagined when you set your goals in January, achieving something is still a fantastic success. June is a great time for a small, sustainable recommitment instead of a dramatic overhaul.

The idea of “all-or-nothing” is a nasty trick that perfectionism tries to lure you into. Perfectionism tells you that it would be too embarrassing to not achieve the “full” thing, so it’s better not to attempt it at all.

Perfectionism could not be more wrong. Trying and putting yourself out there can lead to incredible outcomes. It’s okay if you don’t achieve your dream goal this year, maybe it will all come together next year! But you need this year to act as the building steps in order to hit the important milestones.

Sustainable growth is what leads to restful and joyful success. Sustainable growth is not achieved by saying ‘I’ll try again next year.” It comes by saying, “I’ll try again in five minutes…one hour…or tomorrow.” Sustainable growth comes from consistency, flexibility, self-forgiveness, and rest.

Sustainable growth and compassionate recalibration are the winning combo to guide you into the next six months of 2026. Send me a message or an email if you want to learn more about how you can incorporate these habits into your life.

And don’t forget, your future is shaped more by repetition than intensity.
